About Us
The
Crossroads Center is a full service behavioral healthcare agency providing
services within the service provider network of Hamilton County and Greater
Cincinnati. The center is licensed by the Ohio Department of Mental Health
(ODMH), The Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services (ODADAS) and
since 1998; the center has been accredited in behavioral health by the Joint
Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
It is The Crossroads Center's mission to provide comprehensive behavioral healthcare in a holistic manner, assuring access and quality to our customers. Services provided are consistent with the organization's philosophy to implement State of the Art programs that promote abstinence, prevent or remediate substance abuse, mental illness, and other behavioral disorders that place families and children at risk.
We at The Crossroads Center maintain that to enhance the holistic concept of physical, emotional, social, cultural and spiritual wellbeing of our clients, families and the community, we must introduce innovative evidence based practices and programs that educate, prevent and treat substance abuse, mental illnesses and other behavioral disorders.
In addition to providing traditional prevention and treatment services, The Crossroads Center has developed multi-treatment models in order to respond to the unique needs of special populations such as women, adolescents, ethnic minorities (African Americans and Appalachians), and the dual-diagnosed population (substance abuse and mental illness).
Special
wrap-around services including physical and emotional stability, adult
education, self sufficiency and world of work preparation, family therapy, a
licensed child development center and pre-adolescent services are offered to
reduce the long-term severity of problems among children, adolescents and adults
impacted by substance abuse problems.
The Crossroads Center also maintains service linkages with the multi-health and human services systems interacting with our target population in order to ensure continuous, holistic care and to avoid duplication of effort and fragmented service delivery. Crossroads maintains an affiliation with several ambulatory medical clinics of the University of Cincinnati with whom we exchange services and education. As a result, through partnering we are able to offer medical treatment, STD's, HIV and AIDS testing and services, and TB screening. In addition, the Agency provides psychiatric and psychological assessments, case management services, linkage services to HIV positive clients and crisis intervention services.
The Crossroads Center staff further embrace the core values of the belief that differences in culture and ethnicity among our clients, staff and customers contribute positively to the treatment and healing processes that occur within our programs. we believe in the strength of families and we believe that families can contribute to the successful treatment of our clients.
The Agency accepts referrals for services from many sources. Individuals seeking services, community support systems, community-based agencies, parole and probation officers, the courts, City of Cincinnati, RHAC, Hamilton Choices, Adult Parole & Probation Authority, Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addictions Services (ODADAS), Hamilton County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board (HMHRSB) and the Department of Jobs and Family Services may make referrals.
An initial diagnostic assessment to determine an accurate diagnosis and the severity of the addiction and/or mental health problem is completed by a qualified provider. Through this initial assessment, staff with the client and/or family determine the type of treatment the individual should receive as well as the correct level of care, and establish a treatment plan taking into account the individual's unique cultural characteristics, individual problem solving strengths and learning styles. Determinations are routinely made as to movement of the client to more or less intensive treatment levels when appropriate and are used to match the clients individually to a variety of treatment modalities at all levels of care. Assessment is a continuous process and is updated throughout treatment.
