Our SAMI program provides comprehensive outpatient recovery services to
adults suffering with mental illness and substance abuse. Persons with
co-occurring disorders of mental illness and substance dependence receive
treatment for each of these disorders simultaneously. The program utilizes
individualized treatment design to structure optimal therapeutic outcomes and
recoveries for both primary diseases.
Individuals who are served by the SAMI program are suffering with co-morbid features of mental illness and chemical misuse. These individuals have a diagnosis of mental disorder and a chemical dependency or abuse diagnosis as defined in the DSM-IV.
A continuum of care has been developed with a range of services designed to address the severity of either disease process (chemical misuse or mental disorder) and/or to provide the support necessary to successfully integrate the client in the community. This program consist of diagnostic assessment of both psychotherapy and chemical abuse disorders, individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, case management, medical somatics and drug screening.
Services are offered to assist the individual in their recovery from alcohol and other drug addiction while at the same time treating the mental illness such as major depression, bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder.
